Beautiful Weather Great Blueberry Pancakes

July 12, 2011

On behalf of the Bel Air Lions Club and the volunteers who supported our effort, it was our pleasure to serve you breakfast. This year we served more than 2,100 customers, who ate regular or blueberry pancakes along with sausage and beverage of your choice. It took 29 Lions and nine spouses along with 41 Scout volunteers to accomplish this feat. Planning for this event started in late August and continued until the breakfast. Later this month we will start planning for next year again. We hope you enjoyed your meal along with the music from the Sweet Adeline's coral group. Please return and have breakfast with us next year. It was a pleasure to hear your nice comments.

To help defray the expenses and keep the cost as low as possible, we owe a large thank you to those community businesses who graciously make contributions every year. Please thank the following businesses on your next visit to their establishment: Box Hill Pizzeria, Suburban Propane, BJ's Wholesale Club, EZ Stores of Bel Air and Wagner Foods.

The Town of Bel Air Public Works Department and the Boy Scouts of Troop 313 offered invaluable service to this event. Harford County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Division, assisted with both product and service. The spouses of Lions members worked to provide a decorative and festive eating place besides working the event itself. The Bel Air High School cafeteria was beautiful with red, white and blue table cloths and festive balloon decorations on each table. Box Hill Pizzeria and Suburban Propane both made major donations of product and time year after year. The community cooperation and service of all of the individuals above is what is required to make sure your breakfast is enjoyable and delicious. Thank you for your valuable contribution.

Again, we hope your dining experience for breakfast was a pleasant one and we look forward to seeing you again next year on July 4th which is only 364 days away.
