Broccolino elected president of Maryland State's Attorneys

Howard County prosecutor will serve two-year term

Howard County State's Attorney Dario J. Broccolino has been elected president of the Maryland State's Attorneys Association. Broccolino was elected June 21 at a meeting of the organization in http://www.baltimoresun.com/travel/beaches/.

Broccolino, 66, has worked as a prosecutor in Howard County since 1999 and had served as the state's attorneys' coordinator for the Maryland association for 11 years. He was appointed the county's state's attorney in April 2008 and won election to a four-year term last November.

He was also an assistant state's attorney in Baltimore for 17 years.

The Maryland State's Attorneys Association serves the offices of 24 prosecutors.
