Genealogy program The Anne Arundel Genealogical Society hosts a program titled, "Evaluating Genealogy Evidence Like a Judge," at 7:30 p.m. at Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road. Program will be hosted by Adrian Gravelle, a retired U.S. Army officer, lawyer and former Senior Judge of the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals. He is also a full-time genealogy researcher, specializing in French-Canadian research, and is an occasional genealogy instructor and a volunteer at the LDS Family History Center in Columbia. Baysox The Bowie Baysox presents the "Festivus Miracle" as the team plays the Reading Phillies at 7:05 p.m. Event is based on a holiday created on the "Seinfeld" TV show and will feature festivus poles, feats of strength, the airing of the grievances, video clips from the show, a Kramer look-alike contest and a toy drive. Auction A Quarter Auction will be held at the Elks Lodge #2309, 1506 Defense Highway in Gambrills More than 100 items from a panel of ten direct sales consultants will be offered for just quarters. Doors open at 6 p.m., auction begins at 7 p.m. $5 entry fee includes two paddles, additional paddles are $2 each. Saturday, July 9

Jousting tournament The annual St. Margaret's Ring Joust and Country Faire will be held at Pleasant Plains and St. Margaret's roads, beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by the "Charging of the Knights" ceremony at 11:30 a.m. This year's theme is health and fitness and includes activities and information for young and old. Event also feature beginner and professional class jousting, crafts, pony rides, children's activities, food and more. The tournament continues until the last jouster has ridden and the winner is crowned. Admission is $8 per car or $5 for walk-ins those 6 and older. Proceeds benefit local charities. Joust proceeds go to St. Margaret's youth and music programs, as well as general funds that are used for community missions. Information: 410-974-0200.

Yard sale The Green Haven Community Yard Sale takes place from 7 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of the month through September at the Pasadena Skating Rink, 2318 Mountain Road. Information: 410-979-2900.
