Gladys H. Pinover, nurse

Gladys H. Pinover, a registered nurse and former resident of Anne Arundel County, died June 14 of heart failure at Harmonicare Assisted-Living in Severna Park. She was 73.

The former Gladys Heineman was born and raised in Lynbrook, N.Y. After graduating from Malvern High School, she earned her nursing degree in 1959 from Keuka College in Keuka Park, N.Y.

She worked as a public health nurse and a personal care provider before going to work in the 1970s for the Corvel Co. as a medical consultant. She retired in 2000.

A resident of Severna Park for 22 years, she was an active member of the Berrywood neighborhood community association, and supported its swim team, yacht and garden clubs.

After retiring, she and her husband, Jay R. Pinover, whom she married in 1960, moved to the family's summer home on Shelter Island, N.Y., where she was an active member of Shelter Island Presbyterian Church.

Her husband died in 2007.

She was an avid gardener, needlepointer and traveler. She also enjoyed boating and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, in Severna Park.

Mrs. Pinover is survived by her three sons, Scott Pinover of Bethesda, Jeffrey Pinover of Columbia and Jonathan Pinover of Annapolis; a brother, Herbert Heineman of Boca Grande, Fla.; and four grandsons.
