Beachgoers watch a plane make a low pass during the 2011 OC Air… (Karl Merton Ferron, Baltimore…)
It was an eventful weekend in Ocean City, both on the ground and in the air. Some of the news was not so good, including the death of a 52-year-old boater. Here's a quick wrap-up:
-A Glen Burnie man out for a fishing trip died after the 16-foot boat he was in flipped over. The man, who has not been identified, was out with five others when the accident happened Saturday morning.
-A collision involving multiple cars on Coastal Highway near 68th Street sent five people to the hospital early today. Police say Daniel Becker, 19, of Elkton, was the driver of a Ford Mustang that crashed into other vehicles before bursting into flames.
-The OC Car and Truck Show held its 10th anniversary event at the convention center, attracting big crowds and big names, including hip-hop star Lloyd Banks, who performed and signed autographs.
-The OC Air Show featured a fly-over from a Stealth bomber and the Red Bull skydiving team. Sun photographer Karl Ferron was at the beach and captured the action.
