HCC pair named All-Americans

Webb, Lynn led women's lacrosse team

May 27, 2011

A pair of Harford Community College women's lacrosse student-athletes were named 2011 NJCAA All-Americans announced by the national office on Wednesday. Sophomores Holly Webb and Erin Lynn both received First-Team honors.

This marks the fifth All-American honor by a Harford Fighting Owl in the past two school years. In 2009-10, women's soccer's Beth Lambros and baseball's Joe Harbach were named NJCAA All-Americans. This year, Lynn earned the honor in women's soccer.

Webb finished the season with 34 goals and 12 assists. Her goal total was good enough for 21st in the nation and eighth in the conference. She tallied multiple goals in all but one contest this season, scored at least three goals six times and four goals three times. Webb notched back-to-back four-goal games in victories over Brookdale and Howard, adding a total of five assists.

Webb was named First-Team All-Region and All-Conference during her freshman and sophomore seasons. Webb will attend NCAA Division II's Slippery Rock University in the fall and play women's lacrosse for The Rock.

Lynn earned multiple points in five of her last eight contests, totaling 16 goals and three assists from the midfield position. She had three consecutive three-goal, one-assist games late in the season.

Receiving All-American honors is nothing new for the sophomore standout; Lynn was also an NJCAA All-American this fall for the Harford women's soccer team. She will attend NCAA Division I's Louisiana-Lafayette and play women's soccer for the Ragin' Cajuns.
