Birding Art Contest — Sponsored by the Howard County Bird Club. Draw or paint your favorite bird. Art work should be no larger than 11-by-14 inches. Any medium, including pencil, oils, watercolors, acrylics and pastels can be used. For Howard County students, ages 9-13. Send entries to Kate Tufts, 2830 Duvall Road, Woodbine, MD 21797. "Mural in the Parks" Contest — Sponsored by the Howard County Recreation and Parks. Design a mural illustrating Recreation and Parks' activities or programs, such as the environment and nature, sports, art, music, dance or favorite facility. Two winning designs will be recreated at Waterloo Park and the park directly behind the Howard County Library's East Columbia Branch. Each winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to be used for a future Recreation and Parks camp, class, league, program or amusement park ticket. Eighth Annual Howard County Boatfloat — Hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Howard County and the Columbia Association. Howard County Commission on Disabilities Issues — Seeking nominees for its annual leadership awards, given to recognize outstanding efforts in advancing full participation in community lie for all citizens and promoting both the spirit and intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
