May 24, 2011

The All-Metro senior pitcher closed out a fine four-year career in impressive fashion, leading the Cavaliers to a second straight Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference championship with a 4-1 win over Seton Keough in Friday's championship game at McDonogh. In the complete-game win, Weiman didn't allow an earned run, yielding five hits while striking out six and walking none. With Spalding trailing 1-0 in the fifth inning, she homered to tie the game, and then the Cavaliers scored three times in the seventh inning to claim the win. This season, Weiman went 11-4 with a 0.00 ERA and 170 strikeouts. At the plate, she hit .388, scoring 14 runs and driving in six more. Set to play at North Carolina State on a softball scholarship, Weiman finished her high school career with a 29-8 mark.
