Early Preakness traffic appears moderate

sunny skies expected

May 21, 2011|By Baltimore Sun staff

Our scouts say traffic near  the Preakness appears, for the moment, to be moderate, with no significant problems reported. The temperature is edging close to 70 degrees, and could pass 80 by post time. Only a few clouds are expected.

The union representing Baltimore firefighters is warning, however, the roads near Pimlico will soon become clogged. “Expect traffic issues all day,” the labor union just put on Twitter. The group also reminds patrons that numerous firefighters and paramedics will be at the race “to mitigate any emergency that may present itself” and, of course, to “take care of those who had ‘too much fun.’”
