Daniel M. Gallagher Jr., a resident of Roland Park and a securities lawyer in Washington, was nominated this week by President Barack Obama to be one of five commissioners for the Securities and Exchange Commission, the federal agency that enforces securities laws.
Gallagher, 39, a partner at Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr LLP in Washington, recently worked for the SEC, first as deputy director of the division of trading and markets and, from 2009 to 2010, as co-acting director of the division.
