Roundup: Weiman pitches second no-hitter for Spalding

Right-hander Emily Weiman picked up her second no-hitter of the season as host No. 4 Archbishop Spalding beat Mount de Sales, 1-0, on Thursday in an Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland softball semifinal.

Weiman (10-4) worked eight innings and struck out 13. She had a perfect game before a fielder's choice in the eighth spoiled it. Kelsie Traylor drove in the winning run. The Cavaliers (10-4) face No. 3 Seton Keough in Sunday's championship at 1 p.m. at Fairlands Park in Laurel.

No. 15 Bel Air 11, Fallston 4: The host Cougars (12-5) came back from a 4-1 deficit by scoring twice each in the fourth and fifth innings in the opening round of Class 2A East regionals.

Winner Erin Morrissey worked a complete game and had a double and two RBIs.

Atholton 15, Oakland Mills 0: John Graybeal had a hat trick and the visiting Raiders shut out the Scorpions in the opening round of a Class 3A-2A regional tournament.

The game was cut short by two minutes because of a bench-clearing brawl.

Girls lacrosse

No. 10 South River 18, Chesapeake-AA 6: Sarah Maloff had four goals and three assists to lead the host Seahawks (13-3) past the Cougars in a Class 4A-3A East regional.

No. 14 Broadneck 19, Old Mill 2: Paige Duncan had four goals and two assists to power the host Bruins (9-3) past the Patriots in a Class 4A-3A East regional.
