Men's and women's college lacrosse games of the week

May 12, 2011

No. 10 Bucknell (14-2) at No. 9 Virginia (9-5)

Sunday, 3 p.m.

Outlook: Virginia has won both meetings, but these sides haven't played against each other since 1998. The Bison haven't played since winning the Patriot League tournament final on May 1, but boasts five players with at least 30 points. The Cavaliers — who have had an even longer layoff, not having played since April 30 — will play for the second time since dismissing senior midfielder Shamel Bratton and suspending indefinitely senior midfielder Rhamel Bratton.

No. 8 Stanford (16-2) at No. 3 Florida (15-3)

Saturday, 1 p.m.

Outlook: Both teams will be looking for their first NCAA tournament victory when they meet for the first time in the opening round. Florida is making its first tournament appearance in only its second season as a varsity program. The Cardinal has been to the tournament three times.
