Hollywood Casino Perryville is getting a new general manager to replace Himbert Sinopoli, who headed the Cecil County operations since February 2010.

Casino owner Penn National Gaming announced Tuesday that Sinopoli has been named general manager of Hollywood Casino Aurora in Illinois.

Bill Hayles, who most recently was the assistant general manager of Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in W.Va., has been named the Perryville casino's new general manager.

The personnel shuffle comes as Penn National shifts executives to the company's new properties, creating openings at existing casinos. Hollywood Casino Perryville opened in late September and is now one of two slots parlors in Maryland.

The appointments require regulatory approval and are expected to be effective in early June, Penn National said.

Separately, Gov. Martin O'Malley signed into law Tuesday a bill that adds incentives to attract prospective bidders for a slots site at Rocky Gap in Western Maryland after the location failed to draw bids.

The tax rate on gambling revenues would be lowered to 50 percent from 67 percent for the first 10 years of operation there, while millions of dollars in fees would be waived. The law also lets the state's casinos stay open an extra two hours on the weekend.
