Giveaway at the ballpark The Bowie Baysox will hold Fleece Blanket Giveaway Night as the team takes the field at 7:05 p.m. against the Akron Aeros. The blanket is black and features the Baysox and Baltimore Orioles logos. The first 250 fans age 6 and older will receive a blanket. Parking is free. Tickets are $6 to $14. Concert The Encore Chorale holds its spring concert, "From Berlin to Beatles," at 7:30 p.m. at Anne Arundel Community College's Pascal Center for Performing Arts, 101 College Parkway in Arnold. Heart of Maryland Chorus is the guest performer. Information: 301-261-5747.

Benefit event The annual "Help Whip Cancer" benefit, sponsored by the Pampered Chef, takes place at 7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1506 Defense Highway in Gambrills. Optional donation is $10. Festival The Parole Rotary Foundation and the Kansas City Barbecue Society will hold a festival Friday-Saturday at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium parking lot in Annapolis. The free event will feature food, music, local artists and crafts. Hours are 4 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds benefit the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center for Pediatric Oncology Research. Information: barbayq.com.

Concert The U.S. Naval Academy's Concert Band performs at 7:30 p.m. at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St. in Annapolis. Ghostbusters night at the ballpark The Bowie Baysox challenge the paranormal and the Akron Aeros at 7:05 p.m. Prince George's Stadium. Event features costumed ghostbusters in the stadium, movie clips on the video board, on-field promotions based on the movies and a postgame fireworks display. Parking is free. Tickets are $6 to $14. Family fun Friends of Downs Park will host a day of family fun from noon to 4 p.m. at Downs Park, 8311 John Downs Loop in Pasadena. There will be music, storytelling, magic, kid crafts, nature activities, educational displays, food, games, a craft alley with local artists, and more. Event is free with park admission. Tour The 11th annual Secret Garden Tour, sponsored by the Hammond-Harwood House, will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 4-5, rain or shine. More than 10 private gardens will be on display in the neighborhood along Spa Creek. Proceeds benefit the education and restoration programs of Hammond-Harwood House.
