Keys to Victory

The game features a contrast in style: The visiting Owls like to play in transition with a balanced attack led by Thompson, while the Falcons mostly like to slow the game down and possess the ball. Which team does the better job on faceoffs and ground balls will have a decided edge. Westminster, 2-0 in Carroll County play, has limited opposing attacks to four goals per game so far behind the Yale-bound Natale in goal. Hutson, the Falcons' leading scorer, will receive a lot of attention from the Owls' defense, with junior Spenser Love another catalyst. At the other end, the Owls' assignment will be getting the ball by Winters Mill's senior goalie Joe McCulloh.
