A man shot on North Decker Street in East Baltimore early Saturday morning has died, police said.

Officers responded to the 500 block of North Decker Street, near E. Fayette Street around 3:40 a.m. for a report of a gun being discharged, where they found an adult male who had been shot, said city police spokesman Detective Jeremy Silbert.

The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he died.

Several hours earlier, a 19-year-old man was shot in the thigh at 12:45 a.m. while walking near Forest Park, Silbert said.

The man told city police he was walking in the 3000 block of Wolcott Ave. when he was approached by an unknown man who shot him, Silbert said.

The victim flagged down a car and was taken to Northwest Hospital, police said.
