This nation is in one heck of a bind. Our debt is out of control and getting worse. The federal government is spending $42 out of every $100 it brings in just to pay the interest on our national debt. That's money that can't be used to provide any of the services it has promised. It is like throwing money down the drain.
Within a 10 to 15 years one of two things are going to happen. Either our government will have to declare bankruptcy, or states will have to distance themselves from a crippled federal system and secede from this union.
I know at this point many readers are not going to take this possibility seriously. But a lot is going to happen to this nation in a relatively short period of time. Our economic problems will accelerate to the point where no politician, media or economist will be able to withhold the reality from us any longer.
I am aware that most people aren't overly concerned about our economic problems at this time. But as surely as I know the sun will come up in the morning, I know they definitely will be concerned within a decade.
