Your turn: Will you watch the Capitals in the playoffs?

April 06, 2011|By Matt Vensel

The Washington Capitals are the top team in the Eastern Conference and are gearing up for the playoffs with two games left in the regular season. They have one of the league's most talented and charismatic players in Alex Ovechkin. And DJ Pauly D of "Jersey Shore" fame is in their corner, so there's that.

More and more Baltimoreans have been jumping on the bandwagon during the Capitals' recent rise to prominence, perhaps in part because Orioles games weren't worth watching. But with the Orioles off to a hot start in 2011, some area remote controls will be getting a workout in the coming weeks.

Of course, there is still a big chunk of Baltimore athletic supporters who won't get behind the Capitals because they don't like hockey or they refuse to support a team from Washington.

You tell me: Will you be watching the Capitals in the playoffs this year? (And please note the poll to your left.)
