The senior All-Metro pitcher won two complete games and batted .714 last week as the No. 1 Cougars notched a pair of victories against Anne Arundel County foes — 9-4 over defending Class 4A state champ and then-No. 3 Broadneck and 10-2 over Severna Park. On the mound, she pitched 14 innings, striking out 19 to improve to 4-0. At the plate, she had six hits in seven at-bats with two doubles, a home run, four RBIs and six runs. For the season, she is batting .667 with seven RBIs and seven runs. Hyson, who had a 4.19 weighted GPA last semester and is headed to Georgetown, also plays club ball for Riviera Beach.
