The junior attackman has made an immediate impact in his first varsity season for the Saints, who climbed to the area's No. 1 spot with two impressive wins last week behind Lewnes. Coming into last week ranked No. 6, St. Mary's upset then-No. 3 Gilman, 11-7, Tuesday, with Lewnes scoring three first-quarter goals to get the Saints off to a fast start on the road. In helping defeat then-No. 1 Boys' Latin, 13-12, on Friday, Lewnes had five goals and one assist — including the game-winner in the second overtime. A strong, athletic finisher who moves well without the ball, Lewnes has 20 goals and four assists in the Saints' 7-0 start. Lewnes, who plans to play lacrosse at UMBC, also plays running back for the St. Mary's football team.

Others considered: Matt Bosse, Calvert Hall, baseball; Robbie Creese, Glenelg, track and field; Tyler Dimes, Hereford, lacrosse; Brandon Hairston, Atholton, track and field; Davin Jones, Carver A&T, track and field; Skyler Morse, St. Mary's, lacrosse
