A 19-year-old Perry Hall man died as a result of speeding, causing him to strike an oncoming vehicle Wednesday, Baltimore County police said.

Police said Alfredas Josep Ortman, 19, of the 4000 block of Cliffvale Road was speeding eastbound on Franklin Square Drive near Castle Creek Circle in Rossville just before 11:45 a.m. His vehicle crossed the center line and was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound, police said.

Ortman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, a 53-year-old woman, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
