Chick-fil-A opens in Pasadena Thursday

March 29, 2011|By Liz F. Kay

Chick-fil-A is opening a location in Pasadena on Thursday, and you know what that means.

As part of an opening day tradition, the fast-food chain will offer free food to the first 100 adults in line when the doors open between 6 a.m. and 6:10 a.m. on March 31.

Actually, if more than 100 people have registered between 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30 and when the line opens at 6 a.m., the staff use a raffle to select the "First 100" --- the 100 spots plus 10 alternates.

The new location is at 8110 Jumpers Hole Road and so far the weather report calls for rain and chilly temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday.

As we've told you before, Chick-fil-A executives think Baltimore is a valuable test market for its products. But you must really love free stuff to be willing to stay outside for 24 hours in exchange for the chance to win 52 food coupons --- one chicken sandwich, order of fries and a drink per week for one year. According to the official rules, the grand prize is valued at approximately $250.
