The Howard County Public School System will hold a community meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Centennial High School, 4300 Centennial Lane, to discuss construction plans for the upcoming addition to the school as well as parking lot renovations at Centennial High and Burleigh Manor Middle schools. Quilt exhibit

"Stitches in Time/Threads of Change: An Exhibition of Maryland Community Quilts" continues through Thursday, March 31, at the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park & Museum, 300 Oella Ave. The "Banneker Historical Quilt," a project more than five years in the making, is the centerpiece of the exhibit. Car show

Yingling-Ridgely VFW Post 7472 sponsors its annual car show from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at 4225 VFW Lane. Rain date is Sunday, April 10. Workshop

Art show

Howard County public schools and the Howard County Arts Council present the annual spring exhibit of student artwork at the Howard County Center for the Arts, 8510 High Ridge Road. This year's Youth Art Month exhibit, titled "Art & Social Justice," features hundreds of works by students in grades K-12 and is on view in Gallery I. In Gallery II, work by the schools' faculty is on display in a show titled "Artist as Teacher: HCPSS Faculty Show." Both exhibits run through April 22. A free reception, which includes beverages and snacks, will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 1. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. The center is closed Easter Sunday, April 24.
