Busch Gardens opens

What: Busch Gardens opens this weekend, kicking off the season with the debut of "Mix It Up," a new chef-inspired musical show featuring performances of some of Italy's most popular songs. The Easter Bunny is also hopping into town for photo ops through Easter Sunday at Der Marktplatz in the park's rejuvenated Oktoberfest village.

The village now features a pretzel bakery, more games and a new performance space, all of which capture the look and feel of a traditional Oktoberfest celebration. Mach Tower, a nearly 240-foot-tall tower ride, is set to open later this spring.

Where: Williamsburg, Va.

When: Open weekends through May. Daily opening begins May 30.

How much: A single-day ticket is $63.99, the same price as a Busch Gardens Fun Pass, which offers unlimited admission through Sept. 5. Single-day ticket for children ages 3-9 is $53.99.

If you have a friend who lives in Virginia, try this deal: Busch Gardens recently announced the "Bring a Friend for Free" offer for Virginia residents only. Residents who purchase a single-day ticket online at buschgardens.com/friendforfree can receive a second ticket free.

What's nearby: Colonial Williamsburg offers combination passes good for admission to the historic area and to Busch Gardens.
