Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason appeared on "The Norris & Davis Show" on 105.7 The Fan this morning, and he was asked to react to a video teammate Brendon Ayanbadejo filmed in support of same-sex marriage in Maryland for Equality Maryland.
“It’s bold. But I guess it’s a trend now," Mason said. "You have actors, actresses, but now he’s probably the first athlete that has crossed that line. And that’s something that he has to deal with. But ... I’m pretty sure he has his reasons for taking that stance, so I can’t knock him for that."In a video released last week, Ayanbadejo said that same-sex marriage was "a matter of fairness" and urged Marylanders to support the movement, which stalled in the House of Delegates on Friday. Mason said that though he supports his teammate in taking a stance, he doesn't agree with same-sex marriages.
