Career fair

A free Health Professions and Nursing Career Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, March 14, at Anne Arundel Community College's Center for Applied Learning and Technology, Room 100, 101 College Parkway in Arnold. Information: 410-777-2770 or go to aacc.edu/careers/events.cfm.

Scholarships

•The county branch of the American Association of University Women will offer three one-year awards of $2,000 each for the 2011-2012 academic year. Eligible candidates are women who have attended Anne Arundel Community College and are planning to attend or continuing to attend a four-year college or university. Applicants must be county residents, have a GPA of 3.25 or higher, and show evidence of financial need and a commitment to community service through volunteer or employment activities. Applications are available online at aauwmd-annearundelcountybranch.org or from the financial aid office at AACC. The deadline for applications is March 29. •The Rotary Club of Annapolis is accepting applications from graduating seniors attending Annapolis high schools, including home-schooled students. Up to four cash scholarship awards of $1,000 each are available to area students who plan to attend an accredited college or university and have demonstrated a commitment to community services. Internship participation

Anne Arundel Community College invites employers to participate in its internship program. Students from a broad range of disciplines would like to receive real-world experience and mentoring from leaders in business, industry, government and nonprofit agencies and organizations. For information on how the internships work or to provide an opportunity, contact the college's internship office at internships@aacc.edu or aacc.edu/internships.

Nursing scholarships at AACC

Through 2014, three Anne Arundel Community College nursing students will receive $3,000 scholarships through a program set up by Johns Hopkins HealthCare. The scholarships will benefit county residents enrolled in the college's registered nursing associate of science degree program who demonstrate financial need as established by the AACC financial aid office.
