Summer internship program

The Maryland State Archives is accepting applications for its summer student intern program that is open to high school and undergraduate or graduate students attending Maryland schools or Maryland residents attending out-of-state schools. These are paid internships that include experience and training in archival records management, digital imaging and historical research methods.

The 10-week program runs from June 8 through Aug. 16. Qualifications for applicants include academic excellence, preferably with an interest in history, archival science, library science, computer science, American studies or related fields. The Colonial Players' production of "Company," Stephen Sondheim's musical about life and love in Manhattan, begins Friday, March 18, and runs through April 16, at 108 East St. in Annapolis. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, with 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays. Tickets are $15 and $20, and are available at or 410-268-7373. Spring event

Archbishop Spalding High School holds its annual "Spalding Spring Sensation," a benefit auction and dinner at 6 p.m. March 26 in the school's athletic center, 8080 New Cut Road in Severn. The event, "African Safari," feature a catered buffet, an open bar, and a live and silent auction. In addition, raffle tickets are available for $100 with a chance to win $6,000 cash or free tuition for the 2011-2012 school year. Tickets are $75 per person. Open house for Wellness House

The Wellness House of Annapolis will hold an open house from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, for community members interested in learning more about the organization and its support programs for families, children, patients, survivors and caregivers. Golf tournament for Maryland Hall

Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts will host a best-ball-format golf tournament, "Chip in for the Arts," on April 28 at Compass Pointe Golf Course in Pasadena. Each player on the first-place team will receive a round of golf, a gift certificate to the Compass Pointe Pro Shop and a championship plaque. Prizes will also be awarded for second- and third-place finishes.

Rotary 5k run/walk

Registration is open for the April 9 "Moving Around the World" 5K Run and Walk sponsored by the Rotary Club of Annapolis and the Rotaract Club of Annapolis. Event will be held in Quiet Waters Park's Sassafras Pavilion off Hillsmere Drive in Annapolis. Advance registration is $25; $30 on day of event; free for children 12 and younger. Rotary grant applications

The Rotary Club of Annapolis is accepting grant applications until Tuesday, March 15, to distribute the proceeds from its annual crab feast in August.

Winter golf at Fort Meade
