John Carroll senior Ronald Scott led the Patriots to the Baltimore Catholic League Tournament title in their first year in the league. In a 57-45 win over St. Frances on March 1, Scott had 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. That performance followed one two days earlier in the semifinals against St. Joseph's, where he had 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals. "He's a tenacious player with a lot of heart," John Carroll coach Tony Martin said. Scott leads the team in scoring with 16.7 points. He also averages 4.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.9 steals. His next big game comes the weekend of March 17-19, when the Patriots play in the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament at Frostburg. Scott is deciding among a few Division II scholarship offers for next year.
