Under Armour signs key European football club

Company will supply training wear for Tottenham Hotspur

March 08, 2011|By Andrea K. Walker, The Baltimore Sun

Under Armour said today it has secured its first endorsement deal with London's Barclays Premier League, signing a five-year deal with the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

The agreement with the Tottenham team is Under Armour's largest European team sponsorship.

Under Armour will provide the team with training wear and a playing kit beginning in the 2012 season. It will also supply replica wear for supporters and fans of the team.

While this is Under Armour's first team sponsorship with Barclay's, some players wear the company's boots in league matches. Under Armour's other European athletic partners include Bundesliga side Hannover 96 and the Welsh Rugby Union.
