Zbikowski wants to see Ngata in the ring

'He's like a human bear'

Ravens safety Tom Zbikowski has been making the media rounds since it was announced last week that he was getting back in the boxing ring. It will be his first pro fight since 2006.

He told my colleague Jamison Hensley that he expects to profit only $100 from the fight. On "The Dan Patrick Show," he said he wants to fight Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. And in an appearance on ESPN's "First Take" this morning, Zbikowski said that he thinks Ravens Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata could be a heavyweight title contender if he took up boxing.

"If I got Haloti a year of training, he’d be up there [as] a heavyweight contender, without a doubt," he said. "He’s like a human bear. There is no way anybody is going to be able to take that punch."

Ngata is one of a bunch of Ravens who are expected to attend Saturday night's fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Zbikowski said he hopes to convince Ngata to walk him into the ring.

"I know Haloti Ngata is coming," Zbikowski said. "I'm trying to see if he can walk me into the ring. I don't see too many people wanting to fight me if I've got that guy in my corner."
