Steele Stanwick, Virginia

Junior, Baltimore, attackman

The Loyola graduate lifted the No. 2 Cavaliers (4-0) to their most significant victory of the season when he grabbed a loose ball and deposited it into the open net to give Virginia an 11-10 win against No.5 Stony Brook with 44 seconds remaining in overtime. Stanwick was named the Offensive Player of the Week by the Atlantic Coast Conference. He added three goals and four assists in the squad's 22-6 rout of the Virginia Military Institute on Monday.

Taylor Thornton, Northwestern

Sophomore, Dallas, defense

A third-team All-American as a freshman, Thornton played shutout defense against two All-Americans and scored a game-winning goal in overtime to lead the No. 2 Wildcats to a pair of road victories last week. She netted the game-winner with 15 seconds left in overtime for a 7-6 win. She then held Vanderbilt midfielder Ally Carey without a goal in a 17-6 win over the Commodores.
