Senior Mathew Miller did on Saturday what no other wrestler in John Carroll history had done. He won the school's first national wrestling title at the National Prep Championships, earning the honor in the 171-pound class. He is the two-time Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association and Maryland Independent Schools state champion, has a 55-4 record this season and has 205 career wins. He has pinned everyone in the state in his weight class. Miller carries a 3.3 GPA and has received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy. He will attend Navy's prep school in Rhode Island this fall before entering the academy in 2012.
