A 27-year-old man was shot and a 35-year-old woman was injured in an incident early Sunday in Edgewood, the Harford County sheriff's office said.

The man was shot once near the 1800 block of Edgewater Drive, and the woman with him was found suffering from lacerations to her forearm, according to the Harford County sheriff's office. Neither person's wound was life threatening, and deputies are still investigating the incident.

Deputies received a call that someone heard gun shots in the 1800 block of Edgewater Drive around 2:37 a.m. Sunday, sheriff's office spokeswoman Monica Worrell said. As deputies were responding to the call about the gunshots, Worrell said, they received another call that a dark SUV involved in the shooting was leaving the scene. They stopped the vehicle.

Inside the SUV, Worrell said deputies found a with one gunshot wound to his lower leg and a woman with lacerations. Worrell said the man was taken to a local hospital and later released. The woman received medical treatment at the scene but was not taken to a hospital.

Worrell said the pair in the SUV were victims of the reported shooting. She said no arrests had been made just after midnight Monday but that deputies have "solid leads" and are pursuing several people of interest.
