Man found unconscious after North Ave. house fire

Fire quickly extinguished

injuries described as 'near life threatening'

One person was found unconscious in a house fire in the 1700 block of East North Avenue that was reported at around 12:45 a.m. Saturday.

The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center suffering from smoke inhalation and injuries described by the fire department as "near life threatening." The fire was put out within half an hour.

There was no damage to adjacent properties and no other injuries were reported, according to fire department spokesman Kevin Cartwright.
