Mount St. Joseph advances to Catholic League semifinals

Kameron Williams had 23 points as No. 9 Mount St. Joseph (21-9) advanced to the Baltimore Catholic League semifinals with a 56-45 victory over Archbishop Spalding on Thursday night at Calvert Hall.

The game was tied in the third quarter, but Mount St. Joe's pulled away late in the fourth by converting chances at the free-throw line. Williams went 4-for-4 in the fourth quarter from the line, and Davin Stephenson was 4-for-7. Senior Erik Fisher had 21 points for the Cavaliers (11-18).

Granite Baptist 59, Calvary Baptist 27: Curtis Few and Jeremy Merson had 14 points apiece in the first round of the Maryland Association of Christian Schools Athletic Conference tournament. The top-seeded Braves will take on Rosedale Baptist on Saturday.
