ESPN's Walker says Polamalu was AFC North's best player

February 25, 2011|By Matt Vensel

James Walker, who has a pretty sweet gig as ESPN's blogger for the AFC North, has put together his annual list of the top 40 players in the division. He has slowly been revealing his "Fab 40" all week, and he posted the final four players this afternoon.

So who was No. 1 for 2010?

Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, who topped the list last year, too.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was second followed by Ravens safety Ed Reed, Ravens defensive lineman Haloti Ngata and Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison.

Fourteen of Walker's top 16 players were either on the Ravens or Steelers, with Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas and running back Peyton Hillis being the exceptions.

In all, the Ravens had 10 players in Walker's Fab 40.

I'll list all the Ravens who made Walker's list, but you can check out the whole thing at his AFC North blog:

40. PK Billy Cundiff

35. WR Derrick Mason

26. OT Michael Oher

17. WR Anquan Boldin

14. QB Joe Flacco

11. ILB Ray Lewis

9. RB Ray Rice

6. OLB Terrell Suggs

4. DT Haloti Ngata

3. FS Ed Reed
