February 15, 2011|By Shannon Ryan, Tribune Newspapers

Records through Monday (last week's rank)

1. Texas 22-3 (3): You have to go back to Jan. 8 to find a team that scored at least 65 against the Longhorns.

2. Ohio State 24-1 (1): Hard to punish the Buckeyes, who shot 54.3 percent in their loss to Wisconsin.

3. Pittsburgh 23-2 (4): Panthers beat Villanova without leading scorer Ashton Gibbs.

4. Kansas 24-2 (2): The Jayhawks were blown out by Big 12 rival Kansas State on Monday night.

5. Duke 23-2 (5): Nolan Smith resembled a player of year candidate with 34 points in win over rival UNC.

6. San Diego State 23-2 (6): Aztecs completed season sweep of UNLV.

7. Notre Dame 21-4 (7): Irish get a well-deserved week break after seven straight victories.

8. BYU 24-2 (8): Last four opponents didn't reach 65 points against the Cougars.

9. Georgetown 20-5 (11): Can Hoyas make it nine straight with a victory at UConn on Wednesday?

10. Wisconsin 19-5 (12): Badgers have won 35 of their last 36 games at the Kohl Center.

11. Purdue 20-5 (14): Boilermakers can pay back Wisconsin and Ohio State this week for earlier losses.

12. Connecticut 19-5 (9): Kemba Walker has seven assists in each of the last two games.

13. Villanova 19-6 (10): The loss to Rutgers? Inexcusable. The loss to Pittsburgh? Understandable.

14. Florida 20-5 (17): Gators are on top of the SEC East with four straight victories.

15. Arizona 21-4 (20): Kyle Fogg hit six 3-pointers to take down Arizona State.

16. Louisville 19-6 (15): The Cardinals rebounded from an OT loss to Notre Dame by beating Syracuse.

17. Syracuse 21-6 (13): Don't dog the Orange too much. Four losses came against top-15 opponents.

18. Vanderbilt 18-6 (23): Sprained shoulder? Big deal. John Jenkins still scored 32 to beat Kentucky.

19. Kentucky 17-7 (16): It has been a rough road, where Wildcats have lost five of six in SEC play.

20. Missouri 19-6 (18): Nothing like a 23-point win over Oklahoma to get over a whipping by Kansas.

21. Texas A&M 19-5 (22): Aggies squeaked by Colorado and Texas Tech with three-point wins.

22. North Carolina 18-6 (21): Freshman Harrison Barnes scored 20 points to help beat Clemson.

23. Temple 19-5 (25): Owls blasted Dayton on the road without leading rebounder Lavoy Allen.

24. Utah State 23-3 (19): Aggies still lead the WAC despite a surprising loss to Idaho.

25. Saint Mary's 22-4 (NR): Senior guard Mickey McConnell averaged 24.2 points in last six games.
