Let's all give our predictions for the Orioles' batting order

February 14, 2011|By Matt Vensel

We will see a totally different lineup in 2011 after the Orioles upgraded at four positions this offseason. Gone are the instant outs of Julio Lugo and Cesar Izturis (well, at least Izturis will only be an instant out once or twice a week), replaced with intriguing hitters such as Vladimir Guerrero, Mark Reynolds and Derrek Lee.

We know second baseman Brian Roberts will be leading off, but after that, your educated guess is as good as mine. Well, unless you are all buddy-buddy with Buck Showalter and have some inside information on how the Orioles manager plans on playing with his new toys (if so, email me).

A month from now, we'll see who makes the Opening Day roster and if any regulars start the season on the disabled list. But let's assume all goes as planned during spring training.

Channeling your inner Buck, what would your batting order be for Opening Day?

Here's mine (for now):

1. 2B Brian Roberts

2. CF Adam Jones

3. RF Nick Markakis

4. DH Vladimir Guerrero

5. 3B Mark Reynolds

6. LF Luke Scott

7. 1B Derrek Lee

8. C Matt Wieters

9. SS J.J. Hardy
