Ian Miles, a Mount St. Joseph junior, won four events at the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association indoor track championships Friday night. It was the fourth time this season that Miles has accomplished the feat. He is undefeated this season in the 55-meter dash and 55 hurdles. At the MIAA meet, he won the 55 dash in 6.61 seconds, the 55 hurdles in 7.97, the 800-meter relay in 1:33.14 and the 300 dash in 36.64. His coach, Jack Peach, said Miles played basketball for the Gaels last year and had to be persuaded to join the indoor track team. "He ran outdoor last spring, and we could see that he could do really well indoors," Peach said. "We talked to him about how much playing time he'd get on the basketball team and how much more he'd accomplish with the indoor track team. He's worked hard, improved his times every week. And none of it has been a surprise." Miles has a 3.4 GPA.
