Fire engulfs Elkridge home, damages adjacent houses

A fire fully engulfed an Elkridge home Monday night and damaged adjacent houses, but no one was injured, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

The fire broke out around 9 p.m. in the 6500 block of Grainger Court, in a two-story single family home. Two adult residents were displaced from the home and received help from the Red Cross.

More than 40 firefighters responded to the fire, and investigators were working to determine its cause. An estimate of damages to the homes was not available.
