Two stabbed during fight between groups in Columbia

Police seeking suspect in non-fatal attack

Two men were stabbed and hospitalized early Monday after an ongoing dispute led to a confrontation between two groups in Columbia.

Brandon Charles Kostinsky of the 3900 block of Paul Mill Road in Ellicott City and Wayland Moore of the 1000 block of Courtney Road in Baltimore were listed in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after the altercation.

Police said that Kostinsky, 19, went with several acquaintances to a residence in the 5300 block of Phelps Luck Drive to fight the unidentified man, who was also accompanied by several acquaintances. During the fight, Kostinsky was stabbed multiple times in his lower body. Moore, 20, suffered a stab wound to the torso.

Police are trying to identify the assailant, who was described as a white male with short blonde hair in his early 20s who was between 5-8 and 6 feet tall. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-STOP. Callers may remain anonymous.
