Theater performance

Theatre IV presents the Chinese folktale, "The Song of Mulan" on Sunday, Feb. 13, at HCC's Smith Theatre, Horowitz Performing Arts Center, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway. Shows at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $9 in advance, $10 at the door. Information and tickets: 410-997-2324.

Art exhibits

•The paintings of Marc Boone and Michael Sastre will be on display through March 13 in the Rouse Co. Foundation Gallery at Howard Community College, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway. Information: 410-772-4804.

•A mixed-media exhibit, "North and South," which includes portraits of figures of the Civil War, is on display Thursday, Feb. 10, through March 12 at Slayton House Gallery. Open house

Slayton House Camp of the Arts & Conservatory, 10400 Cross Fox Lane, will hold an open house for new and returning campers from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6. Camp personnel will conduct tours of the facility and answer questions. The $50 registration fee will be waived for enrollments made during the open house. Snow date is Feb. 20. Singles of culture

Around town

English conversation The central location of the Howard County Library, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway, offers "Let's Get Together: English Conversation Club." It's a chance for those for whom English is a second language to practice speaking and understanding English in a group setting. The club meets at 9:30 a.m. Mondays and 7:30 p.m. Thursdays. Wii club Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks offers a Wii club for those 55 and older from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesdays at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way. The first game is free. Information: 410-313-7213.
