Anne Arundel County police have identified a man they believe was the driver of a vehicle that fatally struck a retired fencing coach last Thursday as he walked along Mountain Road during a snowstorm.

No charges have been filed against Maximilian Hopkins Bode, 21, of the 1500 block of Baywood Road in Pasadena, police said.

Richard Francis Oles, a fencing coach at the Johns Hopkins University for 45 years, was killed around 2:30 a.m. Police said Oles, 77, of Pasadena, was on the eastbound side of Mountain Road near Brumwell's Flea Market when he was struck. The vehicle, a Ford pickup truck with a snowplow, left the scene without stopping.
