Two men were killed Monday night in separate shootings in western and northeastern Baltimore, police said.

Around 9:10 p.m., police responded to the 3000 block of Harford Road for a report of a shooting in the Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood, adjacent to Clifton Park. They found 26-year-old Wendell Woodard inside a residence with multiple gunshot wounds.

Woodard, who court records show pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in 2003 and was sentenced to three years in prison with all but eight months suspended, was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital and pronounced dead at 10:28 p.m. Police were interviewing witnesses but did not provide a motive.

About 11:40 p.m., an officer responded to the 600 block of N. Carrollton Ave. in the Harlem Park neighborhood for a reported shooting and found a 45-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his side. The man, who has not been identified pending notification of his next of kin, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday.

A police spokesman said the victim was still in possession of cash and had dropped a cell phone; the motive for the crime was unknown.
