Man fatally shot at Essex apartment complex

Baltimore County police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man Saturday morning at an Essex apartment complex.

Police were called to the complex at 9809 Langs Road at 10:13 a.m. by a someone who said he believed a man had fallen down a stairwell in the building but then realized the man had been shot, said Lt. Robert McCullough, a spokesman for the county police. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot multiple times laying in a stairwell.

He was treated by emergency medical personnel but died at the scene, McCullough said.

Police have not released the victim's name and did not say whether he lived at the complex. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020.
