Puppet show
Rainbow Theatre presents Professor Horn's Puppet and Magic Show at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, in the Slayton House Theatre, 10451 Twin Rivers Road. This magic act is a fast-paced puppet show that gives several children a chance to participate. Each child will receive a gift and an opportunity to pet "Monty," the puppet rabbit. •Slayton House Gallery is exhibiting photographs by Jeff Shi and Xiangfei Fay Shi through Feb. 5 at the gallery, 10400 Cross Fox Lane, Columbia. Around town
English conversation The central branch of the Howard County Library, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway, offers "Let's Get Together: English Conversation Club." It's a chance for those for whom English is a second language to practice speaking and understanding English in a group setting. The club meets at 9:30 a.m. Mondays and 7:30 p.m. Thursdays.
