One man died and two men and a woman were hurt in the early hours of Wednesday morning in separate shooting and stabbing incidents, police said.

Just after midnight, police were called to the 5500 block of Richard Ave. in the Glenham-Belford neighborhood, and found a 25-year-old man shot in the head and torso and a 23-year-old woman with a graze wound to the leg. The man was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital and was pronounced dead at 12:55. Police are not releasing his name until his family has been notified, said Det. Kevin Brown, a police spokesman.

The woman was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and released Wednesday morning, Brown said.

At about 1:39 a.m., police say a man was stabbed in the back in the 600 block of Walnut Ave. in the Rognel Heights neighborhood, a few blocks from the Edmondson Community Library and Edmondson West Side High School. The man is in good condition, Brown said.

And about 1:42 a.m., a man was shot in the chest in the 1100 block of E. Northern Parkway in the Glen Oaks neighborhood, according to a preliminary investigation by police. That location is near the Northside Baptist Church. Police said the man walked into an area hospital and is in fair condition.

Police know of no motives or suspects in any of the incidents, Brown said.
