Oakland Mills routs Atholton in boys basketball to go to 8-0

Greg Whittington scored a game-high 30 points to power No. 9 Oakland Mills past visiting Atholton, 63-43, on Wednesday.

The Scorpions stayed perfect at 8-0 and the Raiders fell to 3-5.

Oakland Mills built a 29-19 halftime lead.

No. 5 Milford Mill 76, Catonsville 55: Isaiah McCray scored 14 points to lead the host Millers (4-0) past the Comets.

Milford jumped out to a 24-10 lead after the first quarter. The Millers played an uptempo game, pressing their opponent and scoring in transition.

No. 11 Forest Park 86, Edgewood 64: The visiting Foresters (5-1) switched from zone to a press and built a 15-point lead in the third quarter. Forest Park's Sherod Hartgrove and Edgewood's Henry Van Rolle each finished with 20 points.

Calvert Hall 62, Archbishop Curley 40: Denzel Richardson scored a game-high 21 points for the host Cardinals (5-7). Calvert Hall widened the lead in the fourth quarter by pressing on defense and converting turnovers into points.

Girls

No. 3 Joppatowne 56, Fallston 49: Zameria Jones had a game-high 14 points and Shakara Head had 11 points and 12 rebounds to power the visiting Mariners (5-0) past the Cougars.

Wrestling

No. 1 Archbishop Spalding 72, Gilman 0: The top-ranked Cavaliers racked up seven pins, three forfeits and two decisions to blank the host Greyhounds. The closest match of the day was at 160 pounds, where Connor Lane of Spalding won a 7-6 decision over Gilman's Brandon Smith.
