Boy attacked by intruder at Holabird Middle, police say

Man arrested after entering Dundalk school undetected, officials say

A boy was attacked this morning by a stranger in a bathroom at Holabird Middle School in Dundalk, according to Baltimore County police.

An officer arrested a man Thursday morning after he was accused of trying to sexually assault a child. The man had entered the building undetected, said Lt. Robert McCullough, a police spokesman, and hid in a restroom, where the attack took place shortly before 8:30 a.m.

"He tried to molest the kid," McCullough said, adding that the boy's screams alerted a teacher, who went into the restroom and thwarted the assault before it could go further. "The staff member heard what was going on," he said. "The child was yelling."

A police officer assigned to the school was summoned and arrested the suspect.
