I've lived in Maryland for 25 years now but was born and raised in Philadelphia. The word "hon" is not unique to Bawlmer. It is used in Philly just as much and sometimes preceded with "yo." As in "Yo, hon, how you doing?" or "How you doing, hon?" I just want to set the record straight for Dan Rodricks and in Philadelphia fashion, I want to boo Denise Whiting for thinking she can trademark the word.
